From the founder

I built this so I could stop losing jobs while on the tools.

BusyBack started as a thing I made for my own businesses. I kept losing work to voicemail — customers would hit my mailbox, hang up, and call the next bloke. So I built an AI that picks up when I can't, captures the job, and texts me the details. I use it every day.

It's $5 to start because I'd rather you try it and tell me what's wrong than pay $200/mo for something you're not sure about. If anything breaks, you've got my number — text HELP and I'll ring you back.

How it works

Three things happen the moment you don't answer.

01

Customer calls. Your phone rings first.

Nothing changes for them. Your usual number, your usual ring. They have no idea BusyBack exists until you don't pick up.

Incoming call
Penny — 0413 442 109
02

You don't pick up. BusyBack does.

The AI introduces itself as your assistant, takes the caller's name, suburb, and what they need. Polished Australian voice. Sixty to ninety seconds, max.

AI
Hi, thanks for calling Dave's Plumbing. Dave can't take your call — I'm his assistant. Can I grab your first name?
Caller
Penny — I've got a leaking hot water system.
AI
Got that. What suburb are you in?
03

You get a text with the lot.

Name, callback number, suburb, what they need, when they need it. Tap to call them back when you're off the ladder. The job's caught before they ring the next bloke.

FAQ

The five things tradies ask before signing up.

$5 to start, then 95¢ per call answered. No contracts, no monthly minimums. If you miss ten calls a month, that's about $14 total — about the price of a flat white a week. If you don't get missed calls, you don't pay much.
Text CANCEL to your BusyBack number. Any unused message balance is refunded to your card. No retention call, no email loop, no "are you sure?" form.
The AI introduces itself honestly — "I'm Dave's AI assistant, taking a message for him." Most callers don't mind; they just want to leave details and have you call them back. The Australian voice is polished, not robotic. Call 0468 003 557 to hear it.
No. Keep your existing number. Set up conditional call forwarding — when you don't answer, the call diverts to your BusyBack number. Takes about 60 seconds. The activation page walks you through it for your specific phone (Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, anything).
Your phone rings first, like normal. BusyBack only picks up when you don't answer — whether you're on the tools, in a meeting, driving, or asleep. You're always the first line.
Text CANCEL any time — your unused balance comes back to your card. No lock-in. Text HELP if something's broken and you'll get a call back. I built this; I answer those calls personally for the first hundred customers.
Last thing

The last person who rang you —
did they leave a message?

If they didn't, that's why BusyBack exists. $5 to start. Hear it first if you'd like.
